Daily Sentinel-Std. - Monday, Marc. 26, 1951

Mrs. Fred Sumner, 72, of Hastings, died at Pennock hospital, Hastings, 
Sunday at 10:45 a.m. after being ill for some time.

She was born in Kent county April 14, 1878. Ella Carten, daughter of the 
late Mr. and Mrs. John P. Carten. She lived in Ionia for 30 years and was 
employed for a time in the Carten store. She also lived in Lansing and 
Detroit before moving to Hastings six months ago.

Surviving besides the husband are a brother, Frank, of Ionia and a sister, 
Mrs. Catherine Wacha, of Orleans.

Services will be conducted at SS. Peter and Paul church at 9 a.m. Wednesday. 
Interment will be in the family lot, Mt. Olivet cemetery. Rosary will be 
said at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Myers funeral home.
