May 31, 2013 Rose Marie Supp, 92, of Ionia passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2013. She was born on January 21, 1921, in Ashley, Mich., one of 15 children, to Mike and Josephine (Slamar) Luznak. Rose married George James Supp on Dec. 2, 1939, in St. Cyril Catholic Church in Bannister, Mich. He passed away on July 28, 1977, from Lou Gehrig’s Disease at the age of 66. Rose was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and spent most of her life on Horizon Drive in Ionia. She worked many years at Ionia Dairy Bar and Pete’s Tavern in Ionia, as well as Joe’s Place in Saranac. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, George; sisters, Mary Luznak, Francis Fabus, Josephine Slamka, Stella Sipka, Anna Fabus, Stuna Niko, Genevive Chvojka, Stephania Vostrizansky and Helen Havalda; brothers, Mike, Johnny, Steve and Joe Luznak. Surviving are her children, George (Marina) Supp of Saugatuck, Gary Supp of Portage and Barbara (Gerald) Burrows of Ionia; grandchildren, Alan Supp, Brad Burrows, Cheryl Molhoek, Cathy Kelley, Michelle Thomas, Stephanie Supp and Daria Gubina; great-grandchildren, Joshua Supp, Whitney (Supp) Miller, Brent, Kayla and Connor Burrows, Brian and Katlyn Molhoek, Lauren and Matthew Kelley, Owen and Masen Thomas and Veronica Gubina; brother-in-law, Tony Havalda of Owosso; sister-in-law, Ann Luznak of St. Johns; Beloved Aunt Rose to many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday, June 3, 2013, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 434 High Street, Ionia, with the Rev. Thomas Boufford presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich Street, Ionia, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to SS.
