Lake Odessa Wave-Wed. September 14, 1983

VERE J. SUTHERLAND
LAKE ODESSA - Vere J. Sutherland 92, of Lake Odessa died Sept. 7, at Pennock 
Hospital, Hastings.

Born June 16,1891 in Eagle, he was the son of Milo and Alma McCrumb Sutherland. 
He married Mamie Dunsmore in 1938 in Hastings. They lived in Ionia for several 
years before moving to Florida in 1953 and returning to Lake Odessa in 1979.

He worked several years for Oldsmobile in Lansing, retiring in 1953. He was a 
Veteran of World War I.

Surviving are his wife, Don and Marilyn Harley, Harriett Haney, and several 
other nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel in 
Lake Odessa, with the Rev. James Hulett officiating.

Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery.
