Sutherland Dies Within Half Hours Notice. Mrs. Milo J. Sutherland living in the northeast part of the village died at the home of her daughter Mrs.Chas. Ferris of Grand Ledge at 1:30 o'clock last Saturday morning of apoplexy, after having given only thirty minutes warning. Mrs. Sutherland had been spending the past two weeks visiting her old home friends in Danby and at Eagle and Portland, and had come to her daughter's Mrs.Chas. Ferris of Grand Ledge on Friday afternoon of the night of her death. She was in her usual fair health, not the best, but even feeling better perhaps than for some little time back. She retired for the night feeling real well for her, but about 1 o'clock p.m. she was awakened by a sudden difficult breathing and called to her daughter to come right away and help her. So seriously was she taken that grave hope were expressed of her surviving, a physician living next door was called and quick attention was given, but all to no avail. Mrs. Sutherland soon passed into unconsciousness and e'er they were aware most, passed to the great beyond. Mr. Sutherland and family here were immediately notified and he went there on the first train. The remains were brought here Saturday noon and the funeral was held from the Congregational church Sunday afternoon conducted by the pastor, Rev. Trevor C. Jones. Interment was made in Lakeside cemetery. Besides the daughter in Grand Ledge she leaves with her husband here four other children, viz- Vere 16, Merle, 14; Mable 12 and Harriet 8; to mourn the loss of a loving companion and mother's care and she will be sadly missed in the home and by all who knew her. OBITUARY Mrs.Milo J. Sutherland, formerly Miss McCrumb, was born April 4, 1860 in Danby township, making her thus at the age of her death 46 yrs, 10 mos, and 20 days of age. She was married to Mr.Sutherland of Eagle and lived there until six years ago when the family moved to Lake Odessa. She had not been in very good health for several years back her sudden death was in no wise a surprise to the family physician. A husband and five children survive her.
