Hulda Dorothy Sutton, aged 92, of Lake Odessa, died peacefully on Saturday 
morning, March 215, 2006 while surrounded by her family.  Hulda was born in 
Portland on March 11, 1914 to William and Bertha (Schroeder) Possehn.  She was 
married to Stephen Sutton on May 29, 1937 and resided on M-66 on part of the 
family farm from 1954 to 1983 where she enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, 
and entertaining her friends, family and grandchildren.

Hulda and Stephen moved to the Emerson Manor in Lake Odessa after Stephen 
retired.  Hulda continued to live in her apartment for the last twenty-three 
years where she will be sadly missed by her many neighbors and friends.  Hulda 
and Stephen had many happy years together while they enjoyed traveling, 
camping and fishing trips, and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen; parents; and brothers, 
Harold and his wife, Kate, Herb and his wife, Joyce, and Thomas Possehn.

Surviving are son, William L. (Mary) Sutton; six grandchildren, Brenda (Ernie) 
Meyer, Patricia Sutton, James Sutton, Julia VanLiew, John (Dawn) Sutton, and 
Jennifer (Matt) Steward; eight great-grandchildren, Ryan and Alex Mayer, Ethan 
and Hayden Sutton, Stevie and Peri Sutton and Taylor and Kennedy Steward; 
sisters, Helen (Horace) Godwin and Lucille (Robert) Heppe; brothers, Donald 
(Marie) Possehn and Raymond (Marilyn) Possehn; sisters-in-law, Katie Possehn 
and Ruth Possehn; and many nieces and nephews.  Hulda will be sadly missed and 
lovingly remembered by her family.

Visitation was held at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa on Monday.  The 
funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Koops Funeral Chapel.  
Burial will take place in Balcom Cemetery.  The family has suggested that 
memorial contributions may be made to the Lake Odessa Fire Department.
