Ionia Sentinel Standard, 12 Sep 1990

May (Mima) McCord Swain, 81, of 2785 West Main St., Ionia, died Monday evening,
at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  She was born Keene Township on Nov. 13,
1908, the daughter of Merritt A. and Nellie Russell McCord.  She married Delbert
R. Swain Sept. 28, 1927, in Ionia; he preceded her in death June 23, 1988.  She
lived and attended schools in Keene Township.

She is survived by two sons, Delbert M. and Richard D. Swain, both of Ionia; two
daughters Delores Mason of Lyons and Jean Wolthuis of Ionia; 12 grandchildren;
12 great-grandchildren.  One granddaughter preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in
Saranac, with the Rev. William Dornbush of Zion United Methodist Church
officiating.  Burial will be in Easton Cemetery.  The family will receive
friends and relatives Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m.  Memorials
have been established for Ionia County Memorial Hospital and Ionia Hospice, in
care of the funeral home.
