Delbert M. Swain Jr., 83, of Ionia passed away March 19, 2014.  He was born 
Nov. 14, 1930, in Ionia the son of Delbert M. and Mae (McCord) Swain.  He 
married Arla Martin March 17, 1951, in Ionia.  Delbert worked for Mitchell 
Bentley in Ionia and later for General Motors in Lansing until retiring in 
1993.  He worked hard all his life, he enjoyed farming and tractors.

Delbert is survived by his wife, Arla Swain of Ionia; children, Delbert "Tink" 
(Tracie) Swain of Ionia, Richard Swain of Saranac and April (Ross) Austin of 
Ionia; brother, Richard Swain of Ionia; sister, Jean (Chuck) Wolthuis of Ionia; 
brother-in-law, Joe Mason of Lyons; grandchildren, Holly, Billy, Neil, Lakin, 
Tylor, Alex and Hunter; and great grandchildren, Memphis, Presley, Rider, Wyatt 
and Hayden.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Kelly Wieber 
Swain and one sister Dolores Mason.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, March 24 at the Lake Funeral 
Home in Saranac with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating.  Interment Easton 
Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
