ARLA MARIE SWAIN 1934-2017
Arla Marie Swain, aged 82 of Ionia, passed away Jan. 17, 2017. She was born 
June 15, 1934 in Vestaburg, Michigan the daughter of Dallas and Mary (Price) 
Martin. Arla married Delbert M. Swain Jr. March 17, 1951. He preceded her in 
death in 2014.

She loved to garden, plant flowers and cook for her family.

Arla is survived by her children, Delbert "Tink" (Tracie) Swain of Ionia, 
Richard Swain of Saranac and April (Ross) Austin of Ionia; grandchildren, 
Holly, Billy, Neal, Lakin, Tylor, Alex and Hunter; great-grandchiLdren, 
Memphis, Presley, Hayden, Alayna, Ryder, Wyatt, Kinsley and Colton; brother 
Dean (Dinae) Martin of Ionia; and sister Wanda (Dale) Humphrey of Ionia..

She was preceded in death by her parents husband Delbert, daughter Kelly 
Wieber Swain in 2012, brother Royal martin and Sisters Phyllis Miller and 
Ginnie Mormon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Swain will be on Saturday, Jan 21, 20017, 2 p.m. at 
the lake Funeral Home in ionia with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. 
Visitation will be on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of services. Those 
wishing may make memorial contributions to Ionia County Animal Shelter.
