The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, April 15, 1974
Rev. Lyall Shepard officiated at funeral services Saturday at 2 p.m. at 
Lincoln Avenue Baptist church for Mrs. Sophia M. Swain who died Wednesday.  
Organist was Mrs. George Ranger and soloist was Gary Knotnerus.  Interment was 
at Tuttle cemetery.  Members of the Phileathia class of the church attended in 
a group.

Bearers were nephews Robert, George, Earl, Herman and Arden Peterson and 
Delbert Swain Jr.

Following graveside services a luncheon was served by the Lincoln Avenue 
Baptist women in the dining room of the church.
