Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Tues. May 8, 1973

Albin A. Swanberg, 78, of 609 King died at his residence Monday evening.

Born at Gilbert, November 2, 1894, he was the son of John and Matilda Ostrom 
Swanbert. Following his schooling at Gilbert he attended barber school in Grand 
Rapids.

He came to Ionia in 1915 employed in the Henry Voelker barber shop and later 
owned and operated his own barber business retiring in 1958.

He was married to Hilma Dahlstrom in Ionia, April 4, 1917, and with the 
exception of ten years residing in the Manistee area they made their home in 
Ionia. They observed their 56th wedding anniversary in April.

Besides his wife, Hilma, he leaves two sons, Robert of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; 
and Edgar of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; daughter, Mrs. Elvon Rasmussen of rural 
Belding; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Daniel Bogart 
of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 pm at Leddick funeral home. Rev. George 
Chaffee of Zion United Methodist church will officiate. Interment will be at 
Easton cemetery.

Family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm.
