Ionia Sentinel, 31 Jan 1983

Robert I. Swanson, 43, of 10641 Okemos Road, Portland, died early Saturday 
morning of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born Feb. 17, 1939, in Lansing the son of Swan and Laura Knight 
Swanson.  He was employed at Oldsmobile, Lansing.

Surviving are his wife, Georgia; three daughters, Sheila, Robin and Brenda, all 
at home; his mother, Mrs. Laura Swanson; two brothers, Lawrence of Germany and 
Edwin of Lansing; three sisters, Elinor Phelps of Haslett, Arlene Martin of 
Williamston, and Shirley Moulton of Lansing.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Neller Funeral Home, 
Portland, the Rev. Desmond Bell of the Williamston Baptist Church officiating.  
Burial will be in Danby Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Tom and Mike Phelps; Tom 
Swanson; Joe Partlow; Bill Thomas and Jerry Kirchen.
