The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, November 16, 1960
Kenneth C. Swarthout, 57, of 1894 North State road, died at 1:15 Tuesday 
afternoon at Ionia County Memorial hospital where he had been a patient six 
days.  Born March 15, 1903 at Crystal, he was the son of Charles and Elva 
Swarthout.  He was married June 21, 1927 in Ohio to Jessie May LeValley and 
had lived at the resent home since 1927.  Mr. Swarthout was a journeyman 
electrician for the American Federation of Labor and had been employed for the 
past six months at the new school in Stanton.

He is survived by his wife Jessie.

Funeral service will be conducted at the Boynton funerals home Friday at 2 
p.m. with the Rev. Ray R. Fassett, pastor of the Zion EUB church, 
officiating.  Interment will be at Balcom cemetery.

Funeral service for Kenneth C. Swarthout, 57, of 1894 North State road, who 
died Tuesday at Ionia County Memorial hospital, was conducted Friday at 2 p.m. 
at the Boynton funeral home.  The Rev. Ray R. Fassett pastor of Zion EUB 
church officiated and interment was at Balcom cemetery.  

Bearers were Mark Hoppough, Harvey Silvernail, Ruth Silvernail, Norman Wood, 
David Seidelman and Richard Northrup.

Persons attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gorsuch of Edmore, 
Mr. and Mrs. Merton Swarthout and Bernard Swarthout of Ferris Center, Mrs. 
Hadley Clark and Mrs. Norman Staley of Middleton, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sabin 
Jr., of Grand Rapids, Mark Hoppough of Greenville, Harvey Silvernail of Grand 
Rapids, Rudy Silvernail of Matheron and Norman Wood or Orleans.
