She had been in ill-health for more than a year, but it was only for about the past six or eight months that tuberculosis was known to be the disease that was undermining her constitution and gradually sapping her strength. Eva Lena Hysell was born April 28, 1894, at Sand Lake, this state, and with her parents moved to this city in the year 1911. On June 27, 1913, she was united in marriage to George Swarthout and has ever since proven a dutiful wife and loving mother. She was of a quiet, gentle disposition and will be sadly missed by her many friends who knew her during her residence in this city. She leaves to mourn their loss as best they may, her husband and a baby son, six months old, also her father, John A. Hysell, and her mother, Mrs. Lucy D. Hysell, and three sisters and two brothers who will greatly miss the true wife, loving mother and sister gone before. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at one o’clock at the house, and at one- thirty o’clock at the M. E. church; Rev. W. E. Doty officiating. The interment was made in River Ridge cemetery.
