She died at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on March 21, 1938 in Clarksville, Marcella was a homemaker. She loved to sew, clean house, cook and have her family around her as much as possible. She loved life and had a special place in her heart for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Bowne Mennonite Church for the last 47 years whee she faithfully served as custodian. She loved the Lord Jesus and infected everybody with that same love. She met her sweetheart, Lavern Swartz, at Fairview Bible School in 1955 whom she married on April 21, 1957. They had enjoyed 62 years of marriage. She is survived by her husband, Lavern Swartz and five sons, Steve (April) Swartz of Lake Odessa, Don (Jan) Swartz and Dave (Rhoda) Swartz of Cannelburg, IN, John (Arleta) Swartz of Clarksville and Dan (Sherri) Swartz of Apple Creek, OH, two brothers, Don (Irma/the late Deloris) Zook of Strugis and Elwin "Fay" (Juanita) Zook of lake Odessa; two sisters, Joan (the late Ivis) Sutter of Middle bury, IN and Beulah (Marvin) Jantzi of Au Gres. Seventeen grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel E. and Edna (Yoder) Zook, and four brothers, Edwin (Iris) Zook, Dale Zook, Keith Zook and an infant brother and two sisters, Evelyn Troyer and her twin Margaret Zook. Margaret tragically died in an auto accident at age 16. A memorial service was held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Calvary Grace Brethren Church, located at 13700 84th St. SE, Alto, MI 49302, and burial followed int eh Bowne Mennonite church Cemetery.
