Robert Sweet, aged 80, of 615 Liberty St., died Sunday at the United Memorial 
Hospital in Greenville, after a short illness.   

He is survived by his wife Sadie and they celebrated 58 years of marriage last 
May.  Mr. Sweet was born September 25, 1883 in Saginaw and has lived in the 
Belding area since 1928.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jay (Mildred) Champlin of Belding, 
Mrs. Vearl (Rhoda) Sears of Grand Ledge, Mrs. Clare (Gertrude) Clum of 
Freeport; three sons, Merideth (Tim) of Lansing, Dana of Greenville, Willard of 
Grand Ledge, one sister, Mrs. Fred (Pearl) Bice of Grand Ledge; 19 
grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.  

Services were held Tuesday at the Grace Memorial Assembly of God church, 
Belding with the Rev. Lowell Nelson officiating.  Burial was in River Ridge 
cemetery.  Arrangement were by the Ellis-Danol Funeral Home.  Pallbearers were 
Charles Champlin, Forrest Champlin, Keith Champlin, John Champlin, Dana Sweet, 
Jr., Robert Sears.
