Opal Lee Sweet, 59, of Saranac, passed away Friday, Nov. 22, 2002.  She was born
Nov. 19, 1943, in Sault Sainte Marie, the daughter of Rhiner and Nora (Weston)
Groendyk.  She was a graduate of Saranac High School in 1961

She is survived by her children, Angela R. Ashley (Tucker McPherson) of Saranac,
Terry Anthony Sweet (Evelyn Coolidge) of Ionia and Ryan Sweet of Colorado;
brother, Eugene (Dorothy) Groendyk of Colorado; sister, Dorothy Ann McMaster of
Saranac; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Saranac Community
Church, with Rev. John Madvig officiating.  Interment Saranac Cemetery. 
Visitation was Monday at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.  Anyone wishing may
make memorial contributions to Hospice of Michigan.
