Ionia County News -  Thursday, Jan. 19, 1950

Mrs. Addie Belle Sweet, 70, of 213 North Jackson Street died Sunday 
afternoon, January 15, at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 17, 1879 in Vergennes township, Kent county, the daughter 
of Mr. and Ms. Don C. Collar. During her girlhood the family lived near 
Lowell and she graduated from Lowell High School. In 1903, she was married 
to Jesse Sweet of Lowell. They operated a farm in Vergennes township and 
later resided in Vermontville, Mosley and Lake Odessa.

In 1933 they came to the Ionia County infirmary where they were assistants 
to Mr. and Mrs. Harris Jackson. In 1945 they moved into Ionia City. She was 
a member of the Ladies Aid society of the Evangelical U-B Church. Mr. Sweet 
died four years ago. 

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Roy (????) and Miss Barbara Sweet of 
Lansing; a son, Donald J Sweet of Ionia; two grandchildren, two great 
grandchildren and a brother, Charles Collar of Lowell.

Funeral service were held from the Stone-Kauffman Funeral Home Wednesday 
with burial in Bailey Cemetery, Kent County.
