December 3, 1959 Life Long Area Resident Dies Mrs. Anna Sweitzer, 89, lifelong resident of this area passed away early Sunday morning at the Fisher Rest Home Nashville. She had been a patient there for about five months. Mrs. Sweitzer was born in Sebewa township and her parents were Edward and Rhoda Griffin. She was a member of the Central Methodist church WSCS of the church and the WCTU. After her marriage to William Sweitzer, they resided on their farm on route 3 until he retired and they moved to their home in the village about 43 years ago. He passed away December 24, 1934. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs.George (Luna) Van Tiffin of Lake Odessa and Mrs.Galen (Evelyn) Chapin of Southfield a foster daughter, Mrs.Etta Sweitzer Boak of Minneapolis, Minn, four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel with burial in Lakeside Cemetery. Rev. F.J. Fitch officiated. Mrs. Sweitzer is the grandmother of Clare Pickens, Lake Odessa, Arlo Pickens, Lansing, Jack Chapin of Livonia and Nancy Chapin of Southfield.
