          SWIFT
   Arlene I. Swift, aged 77 of Lake Odessa passed away Friday January 2, 1998 at her
home in Lake Odessa.  
She was born April 9, 1920 in Vestaburg, MI the daughter of James and Laura (Corben)
Bennett.  She married 
Deforest Swift in May 1942 in Gaylord.  Surviving are her husband, Deforest and two
sons, Allen (Linda) Swift 
of Lake Odessa, Ned (Kathy) Swift of Lowell; three grandchildren, Matthew, Suzanne
and Rachel Swift and 
several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Tom
Swift; four brothers 
and two sisters.  Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, January 5, 1998 at
the Koops Funeral Chapel, 
Lake Odessa with Rev. Ward Pierce officiating.  Interment in Lakeside Cemetery, Lake
Odessa.  Visitation 
Saturday 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
  Memorials may be made to Swifty's P.L.A.C.E. Play Area, Lake Odessa.
