Feb. 23, 2013 Shirley Rita Swiger, 70, of Lowell, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Shirley was born March 16, 1942 in Crysler, Ontairo, Canada. She proudly emigrated to the United States from Canada in 1961. Shirley cared for people all of her life, whether it was her patients at the hospital or her children and grandchildren or her loving husband Jay. She was passionate about all the things she did, including her gardening, canning, or putting on her famous feasts for family and friends. We will miss singing with her around the piano, her laughter, and her warm hugs. Mom, wife, grandma, aunt, sister, and dear friend, be at peace with our Lord and Savior and watch over us as you always have. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Florence Gibeault; brothers, Aurelle Gibeault and Alcid Gibeault; and sister Aline Leduc. She is survived by her loving husband Jay of 29 years; siblings Claudette Newville, Lucille Clement, and Rosaire Gibeault; children Clem (Penny) Shea, Mark (Karla) Shea, and Louise (Bill) Jacobs; Jay’s children, Marsha (Scott) Hubble, Stuart (Judy) Swiger, Lori ( Rick) Raimer, and Mary Swiger; a combined total of 16 grandchildren, Nicole, Andrea, Allan, Nathan, Michael, Jessica, Matthew, Randi, Phillip, Ian, Daniel, Nicholas, Claire, Allie, Alex, and Kayleigh; and six great grandchildren.
