He was changing a tire on the car preparing to go fishing when he became ill. His wife found him after she heard him call, but died a short time after the doctor arrived. A lifelong resident of this area, at the time of his death was residing on the farm near the Thornapple Brethren Church northwest of town. He was a member of the Lakeside Grange. Surviving are his wife Pearl, two sons Dwight of Lansing and Nelson at home; a sister Mrs.Dora Mohr of Grand Rapids and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 at thePickens Funeral Chapel with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
