Portland Review & Observer - Nov. 11, 2012

Virginia I. Swistara, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. She 
was born on June 26, 1922 in Wayne Co. the daughter of Joseph and Pauline 
Shinske. Virginia was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and enjoyed 
playing cards with friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo and son-in-law, Jeff Brown. 
Surviving are her daughter, Susan Ann Brown of Portland and her son, Gary 
(Anita) Swistara of Lansing; grandchildren; Jennifer (Bob) Brennan, Michele 
(Bernie) Pelc and Chad (Jenn) Brown; great grandchildren Madison, Kailen, 
Avery, Barrett, Caiden, Isaiah, Maizie, Cozette and Theodore.

The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 
the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Rite of Committal will 
follow at Portland Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at
