The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, July 25, 1935
Mrs. Margaret Swofford, Berlin township, died Wednesday following a long 
illness.  She had been in the University hospital at Ann Arbor with a tumor on 
the brain.  

She was born October 4, 1907.  Surviving are her husband, who is employed at 
Traverse City; her mother, Mrs. Margaret Cummings, Lowell; one brother, Elry 
Cummings, Lowell; a sister, Mrs. Paul Griffeth, Ada; a half sister, Mrs. 
Bertha Lyman, Belding; and two half brothers, Laurence Burgess, Ada, and 
Phillip Burgess, Kalamazoo.

Funeral services will be held from the Densmore funeral chapel Friday 
afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. Paul Schanzlin, pastor of the Saranac 
Methodist church officiating.  Interment will be at the South Boston cemetery.
