Killed by Electricity.

The nine year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sykes of Portland was instantly 
killed last week Wednesday by receiving a shock from an electric wire.

During the heavy storm the village electric light wire had blown down on one of 
the streets and the boy on discovering it grabbed hold of it and was killed in 
a flash.  His mother on being notified of her son’s peril, rushed to his rescue 
and in attempting to pull him away from the wire received a severe shock, which 
sent her to the ground.  The wires were carrying about 2000 volts.
