August 30, 2017 KEITH C. SYPHER 1930-2017 Keith C. Snyder joined his son in their heavenly home on Aug. 26, 2017. Keith was born in Ionia Michigan to Orval Roy and Florence Sypher, on Jan. 10, 1930. He graduated from Ionia High School and was immediately drafted into the Army and served his country in Korea. He married Phyllis Seidelman on Oct. 20, 1951 before being deployed. Keith and Phylis owned and operated the Cotton Bowl Drive-In, home of the famous MexiDog during the 1950s. He pursued a career in the printing industry and was employed at the Ionia Sentinel, the Toledo Blade and the Grand Rapids Press. He eventually returned to Ionia and was co-owner of SK Printing until his retirement in 2008. Keith was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and served in several positions there. He enjoyed fishing and trap shooting and was a member of the Ionia county Fishing and Hunting Club. Later in life he became a fan of "bleacher sports" and enjoyed Lowell Red Arrow football and dirt track stock car racing, especially when his granddaughter Hillary was racing. He was preceded in death by his sons Richard and Mark, his parents Orval Roy and Florence (Croel) Sypher and his sister Marjorie Sypher. Keith will be dearly missed by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis (Seidelman) Sypher, daughter and son-in-law Lori and Ruby Smith, Granddaughters and their spouses Jaimi and Tim Scrivener, and Hillary and Ryan Fisk, and great- grandsons Henry and Lukas Scrivener. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 1 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Pastor Cliff Allen officiating. Interment with military honors at Easton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Ionia county Fishing and Hunting Club.
