The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, November 17, 1964

Funeral services for 3½-year-old Douglas Wayne Syrjala, son of Mr. and Mrs. 
Kenneth Syrjala of 452 Center street, were conducted by Rev. Ray R. Fassett at 
Evangelical United Brethren church Monday at 1 p.m.  Organist was Mrs. O. F. 
Schmidt.  Douglas died Friday after a lengthy illness.

Surviving besides his parents, are a sister, Peggy; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. 
Otto Randall of Ionia, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Townsend of Muir.

Out of town relatives at the service were Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Barkley, Mr. and 
Mrs. James Syrjala of Muir; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dagget of Saranac, Mr. and Mrs. 
Robert Nelson of Portland, Mrs. Donald Sanbeca of Warren, Mr. and Mrs. Lee 
Randall and David Randall of Lyons and Mrs. Loraine Munn of Battle Creek.

Interment was at Balcom cemetery.
