Tabor, 74, of Hubbardston died Sunday at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing. Born May 12, 1917, in Clinton County, he was the son of Henry and Ione Richman Tabor. He was graduated in 1935 from Hubbardston High School, attending Michigan State University and Milo Bennett Linotype School. He was a retired farmer and was formerly employed by the Clinton County Republican and the Mt. Pleasant Times-News. A past master of Mason Lodge No. 178 of Hubbardston, he was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, No 271, of Carson City, and a member of Carson City United Methodist Church. He was married to the former Genevieve Brown in 1938 in Owosso; she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Linda Butler of Hubbardston and Stephanie Giles of Grand Rapids; a son, Eugene R. Tabor II of Greenville; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Henry (Bud) Tabor of Granbury, Texas. A grandson, Thomas Butler II, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. from Schnepp Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ray Grienke officiating. Burial will be in Westside Cemetery, Hubbardston. The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A special memorial fund will be announced at the funeral home.
