Sentinel-Standard - Saturday, Aug. 30, 1975

Carl R. Tabor, 75, of 913 West Lincoln, died Friday afternoon at the Cherry 
Creek nursing home at Lowell following an extended illness. He had been at the 
nursing home three weeks.

Born in Ontario, Canada, May 9, 1900, he was the son of Isaac and Ellen Davis 
Tabor. 

On March 14, 1923, he was married at Beachville, Ontario, to Etta Spicer and 
the couple moved to Detroit in 1923.

In 1929 they moved to Bloomer center where they lived on the family farm until 
moving to Ionia in 1971.

He and his wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in March of 1973. 
He was a member of the Oak Lawn Baptist church at Fenwick.

Besides his wife, Etta, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Helen McCoy of Ionia and 
Mrs. Mary Fields of Carson City; six grandchildren and three great 
grandchildren; four brothers, Roy of Youngstown, Ohio, Lorne of Listowel, Ont., 
Leslie of Woodstock, Ont., and Norman of Engersol, Ont.; two sisters, Mrs. 
OttoJean Hunter of Turkey Point, Ont., and Mrs. Vera Pellow of Woodstock, Ont.

Funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Leddick funeral home, Rev. Edward Boyd 
of Lennon Baptist church will officiate assisted by Rev. Ronald Nelson of the 
Oak Lawn Baptist church. Interment will be at the Bloomer Center cemetery.

Members of the family will be at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and 
Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.

A memorial has been established for the Oak Lawn Baptist church.
