Tabor, a well-known resident of Hubbardston, died at her home in the village last Wednesday evening, following a long period of illness and several weeks of very poor health. She came to Michigan with her parents immediately following the Civil War in 1865, and settled on a farm just one mile north of Hubbardston. Here she grew to womanhood and married Charles E. Tabor in 1887. The wedding trip was just to cross the road which is now Ionia county highway 555?. Here they lived until they moved into the village in 1915. Mr. Tabor died four years ago and she has continued to live in the home since. Amelia Shoemaker was born at Port Byron, New York, October 15, 1859, and was 77 years, one month and three days of age at her death. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mae Sharp, of Hubbardston, four sons, Fred Tabor, of Lansing; Charles Tabor of Pewamo; Henry Tabor of Hubbardston and Frank Tabor of Carson City; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held at the home, Saturday, November 21, with Rev. F.N. Drake preaching the sermon and burial at the West Side cemetery.
