RAUMOND JOHN TAFEL

MIDLAND-Raymond John Tafel, 65, of Midland, died Feb. 3, at his residence.

He was born in Ionia, April 22, 1923, the son of Ferd and Augusta Lempke Tafel.

He attended St.John's Lutheran School, and graduated from Ionia Hih School in 
1941.

He caddied as a young boy at the Ionia Country Club and later become the golf 
pro at the same club until he entered the Army Air Corps in December of 1942.

He married Mary Feehan in October of 1943 in Ionia. He sold General Insurance in 
Ionia before moving to Midland in 1947

Surviving are his wife Mary; one son, Joseph Tafel of Auburn; two grandchildren; 
one brother, William Tafel of Bradenton, Florida; seven sisters, Evelyn Reuter 
of Chicago, Florence Combetta of Detroit, Lorraine Evans of Bridgeman, Elnora 
Reed of Ionia, Anita Tempe of Portage, Dorothy Smith of Grand Ledge, and Esther 
Koyish of Ionia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Edward, Ferd and 
Gerald.

Funeral services were held Feb. 6 in Midland. Burial in Midland Cemetery.
