The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Saturday, October 2, 1909
Mrs. George L. Taft died at 11:15 o’clock last night at the family home on 
Pleasant street.  Funeral from the residence Tuesday at 2 o’clock; burial in 
Highland Park. 

Mrs. Taft was about 71 years of age and has lived in Ionia 43 years, being 
married to Mr. Taft in 1865.  She was daughter of Bethuel Courter.  She is 
survived by Mr. Taft, her husband, and three children, Riley of Seattle; John, 
of Alberta, Can.; and Mrs. Geo. Kuhtz, of this city.
