Saranac Advertiser, Wed., July 26, 1916
Elizabeth Carpenter Talcott was born in Salisbury, New York February 8, 1837 
and passed to the life beyond at the home of her son, Herbert Talcott, in 
Saranac, Michigan July 11, 1916, aged 79 years  5 months and 3 days. Her 
illness was of short duration she being confined to the bed by 11 days. At the 
aged of 12 yars she emigrated with her parents to Michigan and settled in 
Livingston county. She was united in marriage to Nelson Talcot in Ronald, Ionia 
county, February 7, 1853, where she always resided until the last few years 
when she made her home with her daughter Alice Steere at Crystal, Michigan.

She was he mother of three children, one daughter, Alice was called up higher 
on February 18,th of this year and twin sons, Delbert A. of Denver Colorado and 
Herbert N. of Saranac. She also leaves to mourn her loss ten grandchildren and 
four great grandchildren; one brother, Alden Carpenter of Pinckney, Mich. and 
one sister, Mariah Dickerson of Fenwick. Her husband, Nelson Talcott passed 
away while their children were still in infancy and she was left alone to 
struggle as best she might to bring them up to true womanhood and manhood Early 
in life she united with the Methodist church of which she has always been a 
true and faithful member. 

One more good woman gone to claim her reward and it can truly be said of 
her, "well done, good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joys of thy 
Lord."

Funeral services were held at the M.E. church at Palo Thursday. Interment in 
the Palo cemetery.
