She moved with her father’s family to Ionia county, Mich., in the fall of 1848. She died of paralysis at her home near Woodstock, Ill., Feb. 22, 1908. She was married at Grand Rapids, Mich., March 4, 1861 to Oscar Talcott, with whom she has lived forty-seven years with Christian affection and unbroken confidence. She has been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church from early childhood. They were members of the Palo M.E. church twenty years; of the Ionia M. E. church thirteen years; of the Woodstock M. E. Church six years. Mrs. Talcott leaves to mourn her loss a husband and three daughters, Mrs. A. T. Luther, Lake Odessa, Mich., Mrs. A. W. Chandler, Compton, Ill.; Mrs. H. Hesper Goodwin, Walloon Lake, Mich., also an adopted son, C. Goodwin, Ionia, Mich. Services were held at the Woodstock residence Sunday afternoon Feb. 23, 1908, Rev. J. W. Hackley, officiating. The body was brought to Ionia, services at Ionia M. E. church Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1908, Rev. Cocks, of Harvey, Ill., and Rev. Cogshall participating in the services. Interment in Palo cemetery. Mrs. Talcott was a sweet spirited woman loved by all who knew her. She had specially endeared herself to the ladies of the church societies. She was an exemplary Christian character worthy of the Master. She is not, for God has taken her, but she has left the testimony that she pleased God.
