Tallman, 85, died April 19 at noon at Ionia Memorial hospital of pneumonia, following a serious illness of about five days. Mr. Tallman had been in failing health for several years. He was born in Eureka township, Montcalm county, December 23, 1865, and had been a resident of this vicinity for about 40 years, where he was a farmer and real estate agent. His wife Ola Chapell died about five years ago. Mr. Tallman was a prominent member of the Baptist church here where he was a member of the Men’s Brotherhood. Surviving are three nieces, Mrs. J.D. Couchman, Greenville, Mrs. Winnie McNames, Grand Ledge, and Mrs. Beulah Howard of Lansing, two nephews Ralph Tallman of Chicago and Leon Tallman of Trufant. Funeral services were held Sunday April 22 at 2:30 o’clock from the Ellis Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Warford officiating. Burial was in Otisco cemetery. Pallbearers were Glenn Jensen, Harry Trull, John Leppink, Walter Knight, Wess Porter and Lyle Simmons.
