Memorial services for Pauline Benedict Fischer Tallman, 90, of West Orange, 
N.J., who died Sept. 4 in New Jersey were held Tuesday afternoon from the 
Leddick Funeral Home.  

Services were conducted by the Rev. Carl Hausermann of Ionia First United 
Methodist Church for the former Ionian who was the author of several novels, 
including “Clay Acres,” allegedly based on Ionia persons and places of more 
than 100 years ago.

Burial was in Balcom Cemetery.  Following services, lunch was served to family 
and friends at the home of a niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Harold 
McKendry Jr. of Muir.
