Mrs. Tanner died at her home at 611 W. Washington street, after an illness of four months duration. She was born in Oakland county but came to this county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eleazer Murray, 84 years ago. She was the last survivor of a family of six girls and a boy. She also was descended from Edward Doty, one of those who came to America in the Mayflower in 1620. She also bore the distinction of being the oldest member of the Ionia Church of Christ both in membership and in age. She likewise was oldest member of the Women’s Relief Corps. Funeral services were to be held from the residence this afternoon at 1:30 and from the Church of Christ at 2 o’clock. Burial was to be in Balcom cemetery. She is survived only by an adopted son, Hal Tanner.
