CLARKSVILLE- Kirk G. Tanner, age 70, of Clarksville, passed away on Thursday, 
September 30, 2008.

He was born in Lansing on December 23, 1937, the son of George and Doris 
(Gochnaur) Tanner.

He was a graduate of Lansing Everett High School in 1957.

Kirk was a 30 year employee of Oldsmobile before his retirement in 1991. He 
served his country in the U.S. Army from 1958 – 1960. 

Kirk moved to Clarksville and Morrison Lake in 1997, where he had a great 
passion for fishing, riding his ATV, and playing many, many card games with his 
close friends. He also very much enjoyed his daily breakfasts at Ra-Dar’s and 
the many friends that he made there.

Kirk was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Tom Tanner.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Tanner; son, Kirk Tanner; sister, Marcia 
Hershoren; and his beloved cat, Coco.

A memorial service was held at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa on 
Saturday, October 4, 2008. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be 
made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Cancer Society, or the 
Alzheimer’s Association.

Arrangements were made by Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.
