Ella G. Tanner, 91, of Belding, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at United
Memorial Health Center Long Term Care Unit, Greenville.  She was born Jan. 25,
1911, in Howard City, the daughter of Charles and Eunice Moore Lloyd.  Ella came
to Ionia County in March 1916, where she spent her remaining life.  

She married Samuel Tanner on Nov. 26, 1931.  They farmed in Belding until they
retired in 1970.  Ella was a member of Clarksville Bible Church and attended
Ashley Baptist Church before becoming a member of Belding Bible Church in 1990.
 She belonged to the West Berlin Aid Society and the church, the Smyrna
Extension Group and Bunco Club.  She loved to write and her one position at
church was writing to missionaries.  Her church and Bible meant very much to
her.  Her desire was to have others know the Lord Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Tanner, on Aug. 17, 1990, in
Belding; and her brothers, William and Lester Lloyd.  She is survived by her
God-given children who cared for her as their mother, Carol and Leroy Carlson;
nieces, Linda Wirthman and Donna; cousins, Marieta and Jack Sorensen of Grand
Rapids, Jack Fox of Potterville; and many cousins and friends.

Funeral and committal services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Feuerstein
Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Martin of Belding Bible Church
officiating.  A luncheon will follow the funeral service at Belding Bible
Church.  Interment is in Saranac Cemetery.  Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:30
p.m. today.  Memorial contributions may be made to Belding Bible Church.
