Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 4 May 1959

Fred A. Tanner, 86, of Marne, a retired railroad man and former resident of
Grand Rapids, died Wednesday after a short illness, in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.,
where he was vacationing.  Mr. Tanner was born in Ionia and worked for Pere
Marquette railroad from 1901 until 1921 before being transferred to Grand
Rapids.  He retired in 1938.

His wife, Carrie, died in June 1948.  Surviving is one sister, Mrs. A.W. Jones
of Marne.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at O’Brien Colonial funeral home
at Grand Rapids.  Interment will be in Graceland Mausoleum.
