The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, October 28, 1971


Mrs. Irene J. Tapley, 76, of route 1, Gould road, Saranac, died early Thursday 
morning at Butterworth hospital in Grand Rapids.  Born in Gratton October 10, 
1895, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rowland.  She was a member of 
South Boston grange and Extension club.

Surviving are her husband Henry; daughter, Mrs. Velma Austin of Lowell; five 
grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Robert Rowland of Plymouth. 

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Morris-Roetman funeral home in 
Saranac.  Rev. John Hancock will officiate with interment at South Boston 
cemetery.

Subsequent Publication:  Thursday, November 4, 1971

Mrs. Henry Tapley, 76, passed away last week in Butterworth hospital.  Funeral 
services were held in Saranac last Saturday with burial in South Boston 
cemetery.  Mrs. Tapley was well known here.
