                         DEATH OF DANIEL TARBELL
        At the Home in Muir - Hopeful Words the Signal for the End

Muir, Mich., Dec. 6.- Daniel Tarbell, aged 77 years, lies dead at his home in 
this village, but when the son Lieutenant Jess Tarbell learns of his father's 
death he will have been six weeks buried, for the son is in the service in the 
interior of the Philippines. 

Mr. Tarbell dropped dead in the presence of his wife. He had just told her that 
he was feeing much better than usual when he fell at her feet and expired 
before she could summon aid.

Lieutenant Tarbell has been in the service for some time and is making a record 
for gallantry. The father had hoped that he might live until the son should 
return home again.
