Mr. Tarbell dropped dead in the presence of his wife. He had just told her that he was feeing much better than usual when he fell at her feet and expired before she could summon aid. Lieutenant Tarbell has been in the service for some time and is making a record for gallantry. The father had hoped that he might live until the son should return home again.
