He was born Feb. 25, 1942, in Carson City the son of Robert and Bertha (Martin) Tasker. Marty graduated from Ionia High School with the class of 1960. Most of his life, he worked at Electrolux, first in Belding and then the Greenville plant. For many years he worked weekends and holidays at ETT Ambulance in Ionia (now Life EMS). He served on the Ronald Township Board and was Township supervisor for several years. He was one of the original members of the Ronald Township volunteer fire department and was trained as one of the first First Responders for that organization. He served on the board of Palo Cemetery Association and was a member of First Baptist Church of Palo. Marty was a life-long resident of Palo and proudly lived in a homestead designated by the State of Michigan as a centennial farm, owned by his family for well over 100 years. Marty was the beloved brother of Bruce and Linda Tasker of Carson City and Suanne Tasker of Palo. He was a very, very proud uncle and great uncle to Shelly and Tod LaVictor, Amy Tasker, Tamara Tasker, Nathan LaVictor and Whitney LaVictor all of Carson City, all of whom survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great niece, Anna Elizabeth LaVictor. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 3, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Palo. Interment will be in Palo Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Carson City-Crystal Sports Boosters for the softball team.
