MARY HELEN TASMA

Died April 28, 2026-age 95 of Ionia.
Born October 22, 1930, daughter of Max & Zelda (Riggs) Lanz.
Graduated from Portland High School with class of 1949.
Married Charles J. Tasma October 1, 1955 at Portland Baptist Church, he preceded 
her in death October 2, 2011.
Mary loved animals & raised an Emu for a time.
She enjoyed gardening and canning.
She was a member of the Orange Thimble Club.
Survived by her 8 children, Bonnie (Rick) Galloway of Ionia, Paul Tasma of 
Ionia, Charles (Kim) Tasma of Grand Rapids, Karen(Steve) Miller of Grand Rapids, 
Judith (Vince) Cody of Kalkaska, Lou (Becky) Tasma of Rockford, John Tasma of 
Shelbyville & Joel (KellY) Tasma of Jenison, 20 grandchildren & 17 great-
grandchildren.
Also her sister, Joyce Gwilt of Portland & brothers, Jim (Bethel)Lanz of 
Portland and Robert (Loretta) Lanz of Sparta, several nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, sister Eleanor Potts & 
brothers Max Lanz, David Lanz & Bill Lanz.
Funeral Services at LeValley Methodist Church 4018 Kelsey Hwy.,Ionia,MI 48846 on 
Friday, May 1st, at 11:00 with Pastor Nancy Pater officiating.
Visitation will be at the church 1 hour prior to the services.
Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery at 3:00 PM Friday, May 1st.,2026.
Those wishing may make memorial contributions to West Michigan Hospice.
