JASON TATE 1974-2017
Jason Joseph Tate, aged 43 of Ionia, passed away Sept. 7, 2017. He was born 
Jan. 14, 1974 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky the son of Ricky and LuAnn 
(Shattuck) Tate.

Jason graduated from Elmwood High School Class of 1993 where he was an 
accomplished wrestler receiving All State Honors. He enjoyed lifting, being 
outside, movies and was an avid MSU fan.

Jason was a dedicated father and will be missed by his family.

Surviving are his daughter, Dylan Tate of Ionia; Father, Ricki Tate of Ohio; 
Mother, LuAnn Reed of Ionia; Siblings, Tare (Scott) Doesburg of Lyons, Joshua 
(Brittany) Tate of Ohio, Craig (Alisha) Gossman of Indiana; Grandmother, 
Janet Tate of Auburn Hills; Nieces and Nephews James (Alexis) Doesburg, 
Hunter Doesburg, Bryson Tate, Shelby Tate, Gracelyn Tate, Devin Gossman, 
Audrey Gossman and Emma Tate; Great nephews Elijah and Isiah Doesburg; 
Several Aunts and uncles and Cousins.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Mike Reed; grandmothers, Grace 
Shattuck and Leora Tate; grandfathers, Lewis Shattuck and Lowell Tate; and 
four uncles and on aunt.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life at the 
Ionia Moose Lodge on Sunday, Sept 17, at 12 p.m. Dishes to pass are welcome. 
In honor of Jason's memory please consider wearing your favorite college 
apparel to the celebration. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to 
his family for funeral expenses. Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.
