Taylor were laid to rest in Portland cemetery Tuesday afternoon, following funeral services at the home of Clyde A. Moore, a nephew. Rev. John H. Stewart, of the Baptist church, conducted the obsequies. Mr. Taylor died at Lake Linden, an Upper Peninsula town last Saturday, after an illness of about two weeks. His death was caused by heart disease, resulting from rheumatic poisoning. The remains were brought to Portland Monday afternoon and taken to the home of Clyde A. Moore, a nephew, to await the funeral service. Mr. Taylor was born in Pleasant Township, Allen County, In., 59 years ago. He attended school in Portland and after leaving this village taught several terms of school in the Upper Peninsula. For two years he was manager of a large lumber plant at Munising and later was one of the turnkeys at Marquette prison. At the time of his death he was engaged in the hotel business at Lake Linden. Besides the widow deceased is survived by a son, Wm. C. Taylor, of Sebewa, a brother, Edward Taylor, of Sunfield, and a sister, Mrs. Angie Moore of Portland.
