Hummel, 1436 Thomas street, SE, Grand Rapids, where she had resided since August, 1947. She was born December 31, 1871, in Easton the daughter of Robert and Maria Fleming, two of Easton’s earliest settlers. In 1890 she married Eugene Strong and in June, 1920 was married to Hiram Taylor who died May, 1938. She has been a lifelong resident in Ionia county until last August and is a member of the Evangelical U.B. church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Hummel of Grand Rapids, Miss Lena Strong of Ann Arbor and Mrs. Arthur Hopkins of Ionia; four grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters, a twin Mrs. Vern Simmons of Ionia and Mrs. Arthur Watkins of South Ionia. Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock from Boynton’s funeral home with interment in the family lot at Easton cemetery. The Rev. A. R. Kuehn will officiate.
