Grace E. Hawley Taylor, 75, of Saranac died at the home of her daughter, in 
Saranac Thursday.  She was born in Keene Township on May 14, 1916, the 
daughter of Royal and Vada Connor Hawley.  She was instrumental in the 
renovation of the Saranac Public Library.

She is survived by her husband Elden (Dick) Taylor of Saranac; her son Gil 
Taylor of Maryland, two daughters; Kay Taylor of Kentwood and Phyllis MaGee of 
Saranac; her sister Blanche Mahar of Belding; six granddaughters; and ten 
great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her brother Robert.

Private funeral services will be held, with the Rev. James Frank officiating.  
Burial will be in the Easton cemetery.  The family will be at the Lake Funeral 
Home in Saranac from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. Friday.  In lieu of flowers the 
family requests that donations be made to Saranac Elementary School Library or 
the Saranac Public Library, in care of the funeral home.
