Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Wed. March 4, 1936

Word was received by Adine Brooks, of Sparta, that her brother-in-law, James 
Taylor, 74, died in Honolulu, Thursday, February 20. Mr. Taylor married Lida 
Brooks Miller, and they resided in Ionia for a number of years. He substituted 
in the Church of Christ several times. Mr. Taylor has been in poor health since 
1925. Recently he has owned and operated the Golden Rule store at Beretania and 
Makiki streets. Charles Brooks, Ronald township, and Mr. Henry Robertson, Ionia 
township, are cousins of Mr. Taylor’s wife.
