Taylor, 73, of Belding passed away Jan. 22, 2001 at United Memorial Health Center in Greenville. He was born on Oct. 30, 1927 in Eureka Township, the son of James and Marie (Christiansen) Taylor. Richard was a 4-H leader in Ionia County for 35 years, a member of the Michigan Farm Bureau for 50 years, the Michigan Milk Producers Associations for 35 years and the Michigan Livestock Exchange. He was a life-long farmer in the Belding area and a loving husband and father and grandfather, who enjoyed his family. On April 21, 1949, he married Ethel Saladin in Parnell and she survives along with their children, Jean Taylor of Grand Rapids, Deloris (Edwin) Anthony of Greenville, Mary Wilson of Tucson, Ariz., John (Sue) Taylor of Belding, Paul (Shari) Taylor of Belding, Karen (Daniel) Santiago of Olympia, Wash., Edward (Mary) Taylor of Port Huron, Tammy (Larry) Feuerstein of Rockford and Robert (Laura) Taylor of Belding; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Marjorie Taylor of Three Rivers. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alfred Taylor. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Deacon Howard Scheid officiating. Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday with the rosary being prayed at 8:30 p.m. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville.
