Taylor, 74, of 504 W. May St. died Sunday evening in Greenville Memorial Hospital. He was born November 29, 1887 in Vergennes Township, Kent County. He was married in this city to Margaret Ralph, November 29, 1914 and they had lived here 52 years. Mr. Taylor was a painter by trade and followed that calling several years. He also worked for Belding-Hall Mfg. Co., Gibsons, Extruded Metals and for the city Water Works for 12 years. He retired in 1954. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, one son, George of Royal Oak, three daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Evelyn) Gruschinsky, Ionia, Mrs. Charles (June) West, Wichita, Kan.; and Mrs. Marvin (Esther) Hull of this city; two brothers, Leroy Taylor, of rural Belding, Carl, this city; three sisters, Mrs. Ada Goodenough, this city; Cora Wine, Bellevue; and Mrs. Nora Hudnutt, this city; and ten grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home with Rev. H. S. Ellis officiating and temporary interment in the mausoleum at River Ridge and burial there later.
